What Should You Expect?

Retainer/Direct Care medicine provides physicians with the time to truly know their patients and treat each person individually.  If you want to emphasize prevention, but still want your physician to be there to meet your individual needs, or if you have complex medical problems that cannot be addressed in a 15 minute visit, or simply don't have time to navigate through the current medical maze, then this is the type of practice to seek.  Your health is your most valuable possession and I will be available to help make a difference. The guiding principles of my practice are prevention, early detection and prompt response.

Prevention

I believe that the majority of illness can be prevented, stabilized or reversed by following a consistently healthy lifestyle. The annual physical exam provides me with the most effective tool to understand your state of health and the time to help you improve on it.  If you want to stay healthy, I will be there to help you set a plan and coach you along the way.  Accountability to someone other than a family member is also critical in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Early Detection

The annual exam includes an assessment of key wellness factors including nutrition, physical fitness and risk factors through an extensive interview.  Focusing on inherited predilection, harmful past exposures and current behaviors as well as comprehensive laboratory tests will help me to identify unique vulnerabilities. We can then mutually decide on a plan to maximize your health.

Prompt Response

Illness is usually not predictable. The ability to contact a physician whenever needed is important. You will have my email and cell number giving you access to me at any time. I'm limiting my patient group to 400, allowing more time to meet your acute needs and more long-term personal goals.
